Why Remembrance Day?

  • Observed every year on 11th November, Remembrance Day marks the end of World War I in 1918 and remembers all those who have served in conflicts since.
  • It’s a day to reflect on courage, resilience and sacrifice and to support veterans and their families.

Why the poppy?

  • Inspired by the poem “In Flanders Fields”, the poppy became a symbol of remembrance after World War I.
  • It represents honour, hope and the enduring memory of those who gave their lives in service.
