We’re celebrating National Ice Cream Day at Huddle Hammersmith by treating our members to a complimentary ice cream!

A small excuse to take a break, cool down, and enjoy something a little bit fun in the middle of the day. Head to the 4th floor Coworking space from 2pm on Friday 17th July and help yourself.

National Ice Cream Day is celebrated every July, and although it began in the US, it’s become one of those unofficial “we’re absolutely adopting this” occasions.

Ice cream has been around in some form for centuries – early versions date back to ancient civilisations who used snow and ice mixed with honey and fruit. Thankfully, things have improved slightly since then.

A few more fun facts to enjoy while you wait for your scoop:

• In some countries, savoury ice cream flavours like sweetcorn and cheese are surprisingly popular
• The world’s most popular ice cream flavour is vanilla (still unbeaten, somehow)
• It takes roughly 50 licks to finish a standard ice cream cone (though we suspect most people don’t make it that far)
• The first ice cream cone is believed to have become popular at the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis
• Ice cream sales typically peak in July – which feels entirely fair
• The average person eats around 8kg of ice cream a year, a respectable commitment
