A Brief History of National Cupcake Day

National Cupcake Day is celebrated every year in August, giving us the perfect reason to enjoy one of the world’s favourite sweet treats.

While cupcakes have been around since the late 18th century, they became known as “cupcakes” because they were originally measured by the cup rather than weighed. Since then, they’ve become a bakery staple, loved for their endless flavour combinations and perfectly portioned size.
